Hotel HOCHKÖNIGIN - our history
We, the Hörl family, thought that our Hochkönig mountain, the namesake of the Pinzgau region, needed a partner - and so we created the HOCHKÖNIGIN. In 2019, we transformed our classic village hotel in Maria Alm am Steinernen Meer into a 4-star superior hotel that allows guests to experience holidays in unimagined dimensions of well-being. "Cinderella" - the Thalerhof near Zell am See, which Josef and Hildegard Hörl ran for 40 years - was transformed into the elegant HOCHKÖNIGIN with extensive new construction and remodelling.
All of us - parents and four children - are passionate about hosting the HOCHKÖNIGIN. We are the Queen's team. But our real queens and kings, our princesses and princes, are of course you, our guests, with your loved ones and your families. It is an honour and a great pleasure for us to share the beauty and magic of our home in Salzburger Land with you. And we do everything we can every day to ensure you have a truly HOCHKÖNIGINlich stay.

HILDEGARD HÖRL
Is not only the good soul of the house, but also the warmth in person.
She enthusiastically recommends tours and shares her love of nature. She decorates and maintains the entire grounds and garden with a lot of love and style and is now gradually passing on her experience from controlling to Thomas.
STEFANIE GEISLER-HÖRL
Mother of three, hostess and managing director.
Since fall 2023, Stefanie has taken over the HOCHKÖNIGIN together with her brother Thomas. She pursues her goals with great passion and is a driving force in management and marketing. She loves being actively involved in the further development of the HOCHKÖNIGIN.
THOMAS HÖRL
The new host and managing director.
Since fall 2023, Thomas has taken over the HOCHKÖNIGIN together with his sister Stefanie. It takes a lot of time, passion and ambition to grow into the big and responsible shoes that your parents Hildegard and Sepp have left behind. His tasks include the F&B area, controlling, always a helping hand and an overview in all areas!
MARINA HÖRL
Mother of two and can be found at reception.
She always has an open ear for our guests' every wish and concern. Marina is characterized by her extraordinary conscientiousness and precision - the best prerequisites for bookkeeping, which she also takes care of.
SEPP HÖRL Junior
Has a big heart for agriculture.
He and his family look after the Ebengut organic farm in Maria Alm. The best beef and the freshest organic eggs from the Ebengut are served in the HOCHKÖNIGIN. With luxury, relaxation & great attention to detail, the Ebengut nature suites in Maria Alm have been waiting for mountain lovers, shining children's eyes and happy parents since fall 2022.
MARTHA HÖRL
Mother of twins, is Thomas' wife and also a great support at the resort.
She looks after our TEAM OF THE QUEEN and manages the F&B area together with Thomas.
