Active support for nature: reforestation in Maria Alm
Not only the protection of nature is important to me, but also the active promotion and restoration of natural habitats. That is why I have launched a special initiative and planted 2500 trees in the forest together with a team. This sustainable measure not only helps to protect the environment, but also supports biodiversity and improves air quality. We are deliberately focusing on a diverse mixed forest in order to promote a healthy ecosystem.
Sustainability in all areas: Food and packaging
We also attach great importance to sustainability when selecting our food. We rely on regional and seasonal products to promote short delivery routes and conserve resources. In addition, we run our own organic farm, EBENGUT, with species-appropriate cattle breeding and chicken farming and use high-quality, clear mountain spring water as drinking water. We actively reduce packaging waste by using reusable packaging and an efficient waste separation system.
Regional and versatile: freshly harvested wild garlic
Enjoy the variety of our fresh cuisine all year round. Our team has now passionately harvested wild garlic in spring, partially dried, shock-frozen and processed into delicious pesto. Wild garlic is not only a popular spice, but also extremely versatile in the kitchen - from soups to dumplings and salads. The possibilities are endless.

Our commitment to the environment has been labeled with the Austrian Ecolabel and the ECL label for Europe. We are proud that the HOCHKÖNIGIN is one of the best hotels in Salzburger Land to carry an eco-label.
