Susanne is a collage artist with a studio just outside Frankfurt - for this workshop she packs her creative treasure chest into her car and brings it with her to Maria Alm. Collages are her great passion because they offer limitless possibilities for expression: cut, tear, combine - and reinforce, paint over or accentuate with acrylic paints. In this way, a surprisingly harmonious whole is created from many individual parts and layers of color. Whether beginner or advanced: everyone will find their own expression here. Susanne shows with ease and humor how to get into the creative flow - and why collages are a real source of happiness. But be careful: there is a risk of addiction! Many participants come back again and again because they feel that more than just art is created here: namely a piece of joie de vivre.

Day 1 - Arrive & feel good
Arrive, let go, take a deep breath. After getting to know each other, we start with playful creative exercises to whet your appetite for the "collage" adventure. Susanne gives a clear introduction to the technique and the first small works are created: collages on fine paper that are immediately framed to make pretty postcards. From now on, you may no longer be sending simple greetings, but small, handmade works of art. To warm up, we experiment with spontaneous color exercises on paper - playfully, freely and without pressure. This makes it easy to let go, and exciting elements are created along the way that we can use straight away over the next few days.

Day 2 - Intuition on canvas
Today you will create your first collage artwork on canvas. We choose the format 30 × 30 cm or 40 × 40 cm. There is deliberately no theme - instead, we will rely on the moment and your intuition. Collages thrive on the interplay between planning and surprise. With Susanne's treasure chest full of special papers and materials, everyone can find their own style. The result is your own personal work of art - unique and unmistakable.

Day 3 - Flower power!
Nature takes on the leading role today: flowers, leaves, organic shapes and bright colors inspire your collage work. Using stencils and colorful papers, you will create a collage artwork full of strength, lightness and joie de vivre. A work of art on canvas that reminds you again and again of the energy and beauty of nature.

Day 4 - Your portrait in street art style
For the grand finale, your canvas will be colorful and modern: Today you will also be working with stencils and sprays. The result is a portrait with a lively street art look - of yourself, an idol or even a person you would like to give this work of art as a gift. Your collage experience of the last few days and Susanne's support make it possible to create this special highlight. To make the portrait as personal as possible, Susanne will need a photo (face & upper body) in advance - but Susanne will discuss these details with you approx. 1 - 2 weeks before the course. And if portraits (or another subject) are not your thing: don't worry, there are alternatives - so everyone goes home with some great works after these creative days.
