In the new à la carte restaurant RAR in the HOCHKÖNIGIN, you won't be served an ordinary meal, but a creative explosion of flavours. Here, Asian flavours meet Alpine traditions, refined through the art of fermentation and pickling - a feast for the senses!

Have you ever experienced how tradition meets innovation? Our head chef Maximilian Reuter is exactly the missing piece of the puzzle that makes our cuisine an experience you are guaranteed not to forget.

Having worked in top hotels such as the Kempinski Frankfurt, the Kempinski Berchtesgaden and alongside the legendary Bobby Bräuer in Munich, he not only brings experience to the table, but also a great deal of passion and creativity.



But let's be honest - who needs standard dishes when you can conjure up dim sum filled with sweetbreads, refined with Sriracha and alpine-spiced spruce tea? Yes, that's what we asked ourselves.

The result? A menu full of surprises and flavours that you won't see coming. Maximilian combines Alpine cuisine with a touch of Japan - a combination that is so exciting.

Knowing where it comes from simply tastes better, doesn't it?

Welcome to the HOCHKÖNIGIN, where regionality is not just a trend, but a way of life. Our ingredients? They come from here, directly from Maria Alm and the surrounding area. Fresh, sustainable and produced with lots of love.

The beef from the EBENGUT organic farm is completely utilised by us - nose to tail, because we appreciate every piece. Soup chickens and eggs? Also from EBENGUT, of course. And did you know that we get our lamb and butter from Sommerjufen, venison, deer and chamois from the Geisler family, fresh milk from Melchambauer and the finest cheese from Onemoos Bauer? Sounds delicious, doesn't it?


And the best thing? The flavours that make our dishes special grow in our own herb garden. Here, the herbs are diligently picked, sniffed and sometimes nibbled - whether by our kitchen team or the little guests who enjoy the sweet currants.
